About
Me

I will give thanks to the Lord with all my heart; I will tell of all Your wonders.  -Psalm 9: 1 (NASB).

How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them! -Psalm 139: 17 (NIV).

God catches the wise when they try to outsmart Him.  1 Corinthians 3: 19b (CEV).

Hello and welcome.  Thank you for visiting this site.  My name is Susan. I come from the U.S. Midwest.  I am not a scientist, nor do I hold a college degree in any area of science. Fortunately, knowing the Creator doesn’t require a degree in science or theology.  I’m just an ordinary, average person who loves the Lord, appreciates seeking deeper truths about Him, and enjoys discovering diverse and interesting facts about His exceptionally beautiful Creation.  The more I learn about Creation, the more awesome I perceive the sum of Creation to be and the more my gratitude and admiration for God’s handiwork exponentially grows.  With a sense of wonder and delight in what He has done and what He will yet do, I am thankful for life in Him and with Him. I love that He calls us His friend.  Jesus is alive, real, available, loving, personal, knowable, and touchable.

Our wide world holds a vast wealth of hidden treasure and untold beauty – a realm rich with fresh surprises and astonishing unseen activity just waiting to be revealed.  Every leaf and flower are an exquisite marvel and gift-bearing His signature.  Consider the wide array of gorgeous, colorful, exquisitely scented flowers we’ve been blessed to enjoy! Such beautiful little delicate fragrant gifts are not likely here just to fulfill a utilitarian purpose, because such extravagant sensory beauty is not required to support perpetuating the survival of flower species.  We have a delightful Creator who delights in beauty and delights in delighting Himself and delighting us.  We see striking gratuitous beauty and value in the worldwide plant and animal kingdom that reaches beyond reasonable expectations for successful biological functionality.  Just watching the splendid spectacle of a strutting peacock’s colorful fanned feather display is enough to take your breath away.  We are treated to Divinely orchestrated compositions of vivid environmental tapestries woven with exquisite aesthetic detail.  The work of God’s hands surrounds us with extraordinarily intriguing and creative plans, organization, patterns, principles, color, sound, form, movement, symmetry, shapes, variety of locomotion, and feats of mind-boggling mechanics.  The deeper you investigate, the more incredibly wondrous it becomes.

All created things possess a unique “awe” and “wow” appeal that has ever impressed and captured the minds of curious seekers naturally drawn in to encounter, explore, examine, and understand something more of the beauty and complexity of Creation. It is a privilege to learn about God’s Creation – to enjoy, take delight in, and be surprised by its many wonders.  I believe that the whole of Creation near and far is here by divine plan and purpose, including each of us.  All Creation exclaims intention.  The whole show exudes extraordinarily special, intriguing characteristics that beckon the imagination to look deeper and persuade the heart to see more, know more, and love God more in personal, intimate ways.

There is divine ownership:  The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it;  -Psalm 24: 1 (NIV).  Staring out at the incomprehensibly massive visible universe causes us to ponder about the enormous expanse of space and contemplate how the magnificent cosmos shows forth God’s infiniteness.  The moment we give attention to what God has created presents us with the compelling reality that He is awesome and worthy of our worship.  A main reason for giving praise to the Lord is for His Creation:  Let them praise the name of the LORD for he commanded and they were created -Psalm 148: 5 (NIV).  Evangelist A.W. Tozer hit the mark with these quotes:  “God is a Person and can be known in increasing degrees of intimate acquaintance as we prepare our hearts for the wonder.”  “It is a strange and beautiful eccentricity of the free God that He has allowed His heart to be emotionally identified with men.  Self-sufficient as He is, He wants our love and will not be satisfied till He gets it.  Free as He is, He has let His heart be bound to us forever.”  “What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.”

This site was put together to talk about salvation and to showcase (and describe in easy-to-understand, simply-stated terms) some random interesting nuggets about Creation.  Though the entries under Some Amazing Facts About Creation are a tiny taste, an ultra-limited sample slice from the vastness of Creation, I hope they enkindle an inspired sensitivity to your surroundings wherever you go, whatever you see, whatever you do.  My hope is this wee glimpse into just some of the facets of the magnificent, created, splendid operations revealed in our colorful world and beyond bids you to explore further and discover heightened enjoyment and appreciation of the beauty, wonder and work of Creation all around us.  May you grow closer to your Creator and your sense of belonging to Him only deepen.  May you always draw nearer to Jesus (what a wonder He is!) and ever enjoy His peace and presence as you continue to walk and talk with Him, listen to Him, and be His forever.  He loves you beyond measure.

I stand in awe of Him.

Susan

May you be blessed by the Lord, who made heaven and earth! -Psalm 115: 15 (ESV).

“I believe in one God – sole, eternal – He who, motionless, moves all the heavens with his love and his desire…This is the origin, this is the spark that then extends into a vivid flame and, like a star in heaven, glows in me.”  Dante Alighieri. Paradiso XXIV.
