Introduction

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.  -Genesis 1: 1 (KJV). 

The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. -Psalm 19: 1 (NIV).

For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers; all things were created by him, and for him; 16  And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. 17  -Colossians 1: 16-17 (KJV).

He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.  -Ecclesiastes 3: 11 (KJV).

I am awestruck. To the uttermost. My heart is enthralled, captivated by the magnificent scope, splendor and precision of God’s exceedingly excellent Creation. His Creation calls to us. It elevates and enlivens us. It awakens our senses and evokes elated feelings within. Our all-powerful Creator has engraved His signature everywhere, onto and into every beautiful thing.  The majestic Creation was well-planned by God.  The self-revelation of God in Creation expresses personality and emotion and manifests pure and perfect goodness. God is good.  Observation of the Designer’s detailed handiwork throughout this finely-tuned universe beckons us to know with deep knowing that we are encountering incalculable genius, elegant mathematics, exquisite artistry, superabundant provision and inestimable divine Love that is infinite, passionate, endearing, piercing, personal and intimate. There is not a place, person or thing which does not evidence the supernatural fingerprint of our omnipotent Almighty Creator, whose power yet sustains and preserves our world and the universe beyond. Observing the heavens, the earth and everything in it draws us into spectacular mysteries and unparalleled delight. Oh, how marvelous the expanse of such astoundingly intricate, inventive, colorful, myriad abundance that is vast and minute.

God has made His power known throughout Creation so that we might know Him, understand that He is good and turn to Him. He has shared Himself with us. The Lord is a generous, attentive, faithful lover of our souls. He woos us. Evidence of His gifts are everywhere.  He has positioned us within a harmonious universe and surrounded us with wonders seen and unseen that proclaim His goodness, power and wisdom. He has placed us in a lavishly embellished, delicately balanced lush habitation pulsating with life, reflecting intelligence, feelings and purpose, and characterized by rational order and useful arrangement. He has providentially crafted the cosmos for our benefit. He has adorned our landscapes with breathtaking scenery and graced our skyward views with blissful sunsets and expansive starry heavens.  He has given us gifts of incredibly extravagant, shocking beauty (so much beauty!) that far exceeds any costly gift given by any earthly lover from any place or time.  He has touched us with unending bounteous riches through the pleasures derived from experiencing His dynamic, multi-faceted, detailed world painted with changing colors and outfitted with diverse scenes, scents, shapes, sounds, tastes and textures that nourish our lives. Sand, sea, star-studded skies, trees, rain, canyons, clouds, rivers, mountains, waterfalls, roses, peacocks, islands, seasons, wind, laughter, a beautiful melody, sunshine, rainbows, blueberries, butterflies, bird songs, shooting stars, complex designs to engage us and puzzles to unravel. We are made in the image of God, rational beings gifted with imagination.  We are invited to gaze upon, drink in, and celebrate the beauty, the feast of the heavens and earth. Endowed with potential, vested with possibilities, called to dream, we’re invited to share of His grand and glorious Creation and participate – overseers, gardeners, cooks, architects, engineers, inventors, designers, builders, artists, musicians, worshippers who bow to our ingenious Creator.  To His great, enduring Majesty, with thanksgiving, reverence and joy in my Beloved, I look forward to sharing curious bits, wonders and Bible verses aimed to stir hearts, bless and inspire.
